How to Set Goals So You Actually Achieve Them

Dear Reader,

We are near the end of the year. This is an exciting time. A change of season and year is always an indication of “out with the old and in with the new.“ Whether it is a new way of life, a new career, or new goals, the new year is always a time for reviving dreams and going after long-held aspirations.

As we go toward the new year, make this a time to get a head start in achieving your goals. What do you want to achieve by the new year?

Maybe it’s a new course or training you want to join.

Maybe you want to pursue a career change.

Or maybe it’s a more personal goal.

Whatever goals you have, the end of the year is a great time to go after them.

Goals are easier to achieve when the goal post is closer in sight.  Goals that are set to be completed by the New Year in the last few months or weeks of the year are more likely to be achieved than those set at the start of the year. Similarly, goals set to be completed by a special occasion (such as graduation day or a wedding) or holiday are more likely to be achieved.

Goals are easier to achieve when the goal post is closer in sight.

On the other hand, goals set at the start of the new year to be completed by the end of the year are likely to be forgotten soon after.

So create those end of year goals and get ready to live the life you are proud of.
