A lot of time is wasted on unnecessary or unimportant things. Especially with technology and social media, it’s so easy to become occupied with unnecessary tasks or tasks that are not bringing desired results. That is, tasks not helping you reach your goals, whether they are job hunting / career advancement goals or income / business goals.
It’s important to identify and eliminate these types of tasks.

By being clear about goals and the activities that help you reach them – and eliminating tasks that don’t bring you closer to your goals – you can be more productive. You will also be more efficient with your time. Thus, you can reduce your workload as well as stress.
The result is getting important work done faster, having greater clarity, and having more time for other important things such as personal time, time with family, etc.
How to put it into practice:
- List your goals – goals for the day, goals for the week, goals for the year.
- Ask yourself “is the activity I am doing bringing me closer to my goals (or serving some other purpose, such as mental health break or socializing)?
- If not, eliminate it or put it at the end of your list of tasks, after the urgent and important tasks are done.
By being mindful about the activities you engage in, you will have more clarity, and get things done faster.
You may want to make a list of everything you do in a given day and eliminate those things that do not help you achieve your goals. Then identify the tasks you need to do to reach your goals, and ensure they get done.
As you focus more on productive activities that bring results, and remove distractions, you will reach success and a fulfilling life faster.
