As AI Innovation Becomes More Advanced, Billions of People to Be Left Behind

Although AI usage is increasing globally, far too few people still use AI in general. In fact, less than half a billion people use AI globally. And since artificial intelligence is expected to massively affect people’s lives and jobs, the sooner people jump on the bandwagon, the better for the world economy. Otherwise, a lot of people will be left behind. Nonusers will be unable to compete with those who become very skilled in using AI and therefore are likely to become a liability for the global economic system.

What can be done to make AI usage mainstream just like email? How can nontech people and unskilled people be encouraged to use Grok or other AI apps on a regular basis, for creative functions like making documents, graphics, or using AI to assist with any project? These are questions tech companies and governments should be trying to answer.

A few ideas: Should a window pop up every time someone opens a browser or email, asking, “What can I assist you with today?” Or “what would you like to work on today,” and then give a list of options? Would that get more people to try AI and get acquainted with it?
